Incentives & Programs

COMIDA offers financial assistance for for-profit companies including sales and mortgage tax exemptions and real property tax abatements. In general, COMIDA-assisted projects are limited to the purchase of land, existing facilities, the renovation of existing facilities and new machinery or equipment. We can assist projects located throughout Monroe County, including the City of Rochester in the state of New York. COMIDA benefits can be combined with incentives provided by other sources.

Companies throughout Monroe County have benefited from COMIDA programs for more than four decades. COMIDA PILOT programs, workforce development programs, rebate and tax programs, and agricultural programs have all been created to ensure that companies looking to locate, expand, grow, and prosper in Monroe County are supported in doing so.

COMIDA provides assistance to qualified applicants/projects; however, COMIDA does not lend money for any projects, but rather it provides assistance through tax exemptions, real property tax abatements, mortgage tax exemptions, and access to lower interest rates through tax-exempt bond issues. Assistance is available for acquiring, constructing, reconstructing, improving, maintaining, equipping and furnishing industrial, manufacturing, warehousing, commercial, research and recreational facilities.
