In May of 2017, LadderzUp was launched with a simple goal: to link residents who are looking for work with employers who are ready to hire by offering the specific training they need.
Since its inception, the LadderzUp workforce development program has trained over 775 residents to fill rewarding, well-paying local jobs in growing industries like metal fabrication, project management, precision welding, and customer service. LadderzUp is a first-of-its-kind workforce development initiative that provides customized educational and skills-training programming specifically aligned with open employment opportunities.
LadderzUp is powered by a collaborative partnership between COMIDA and Monroe Community College (MCC).
In 2019, MCC was selected as a long-term partner for the LadderzUp program. LadderzUp will also be building on its success in a first-of-its-kind LadderzUp Plastics Consortium. Local employers pooled resources for sending their employees or recruits to specialized plastics injection training and launched new Consortiums designed for growing industries like HVAC and facilities maintenance.
